Welcome to Elvaston Communities Group

A local community encompassing the areas of Elvaston, Ambaston, Thulston and Boulton Moor.

Elvaston Communities Group can trace its origins back to September 2009.

The Group achieved charitable status in September 2020 and consists of a committee of trustees which is responsible for planning, organising and finance, and a large supporting group of volunteers.

Registered Charity Number 1192954.

The area encompassed by the group comprises Elvaston, Thulston, Ambaston and Boulton Moor. The first three were villages initially attached to and dependant on Elvaston Castle and Estate and Boulton Moor has grown to be part of the Parish Council’s area.

The stated aim of the group is to promote, for the benefit of Elvaston Parish and surrounding villages in Derbyshire, the provision of recreational events to enable residents to come together, get to know each other and have a great time!

Many events and projects have been arranged over the years. These have included an annual village fete, fashion shows, the development of a Sensory Garden, coffee mornings, bulbs planted in grass verges, local notice boards, Christmas Carols in the Harrington Arms, the Jubilee celebration and exhibitions - in particular a major World War One exhibition entitled “The Conflict and the Countryside"
