Elvaston Art Club

The Art Club is an independent organisation which began in a small way in 2001, but grew rapidly to 32 members plus waiting list.

Meetings

We meet at Elvaston Village Hall every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.30 and members enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Eveyone paints, draws, sketches, uses mixed media, with water colours, acrylics, pencils, oils and many other mediums. We don’t have a regular teacher, but have enjoyed demonstrations from 57 visiting artists so far.

A collection of art books and DVD’s are available for loan, giving practical advice and inspiration.

Christmas Art & Craft Exhibition

We hold our Christmas Art and Craft Exhibition (15 to date) in the Village Hall. About 120 paintings are on view, either for sale or as exhibits and a Craft Stall for members’ own work. We really enjoy getting ready for the exhibition, it encourages us to complete and frame our work and to practice our home made cake baking skills for the refreshments which are available throughout the day!

Although we have a waiting list, please don’t let that put you off, just forward your name to the Club and we’ll hopefully meet before too long.
